Direct to School

I want to sign up and order lunches, but I don’t know my school code. What is a school code and how do I get one?

A valid school code is required to sign up and register an account with The Lunch MOB. This code is an alphanumeric code assigned to a school that has agreed for The Lunch MOB to be its lunch service provider. If you have not received a school code from your school or have forgotten your school code, please contact customer service at (949) 415-9529, or you can e-mail us at support@thelunchmob.co with your school’s name and address, and we’ll be more than happy to provide you with the information you need to open your new account.

When can I place my lunch orders and when will I receive them?

Once you have established your account and your school’s calendar menu is available, you may place your lunch orders at any time. Lunch orders must be placed by 12pm, 2 calendar days before the day of lunch service. For example, Monday lunches must be ordered by Saturday 12pm, or Tuesday lunches must be ordered by Sunday 12pm.

When will my school’s calendar menu be available?

Your school’s calendar menu will be available no later than 2 weeks before the start of the school year. You will be able to see what is on the calendar menu 6 weeks out at all times.

Once I’ve placed my lunch order, can I change or cancel it?

Yes, you can change or cancel any items in your order up to 12pm, 2 calendar days before the day of lunch service. After this ordering deadline, changes will no longer be accepted. However, cancellations will be accepted after the deadline up to 7am the day of lunch service for a 70% refund. No refunds for cancellations will be offered after 7am the day of lunch service.

What is an Emergency Lunch?

Have you ever looked into your refrigerator and have an “Oh No!” moment? Well, we know it will happen and that’s what we’re here for. Thus, the Emergency Lunch, which is a limited options menu that will be available up to 8am the day of lunch service.

If I forget my username and/or password, how do I retrieve them?

Your username is the e-mail address you used when first creating your account. If you forgot your password, please click the “Lost your password?” link and your password will be sent to the e-mail address on file.

What form of payment can I use when ordering lunches?

You can pay by credit or debit card. During the “checkout” process, you can enter your credit or debit card information via Stripe, the third party e-commerce processor that we are using as our highly secure credit card processing system. Your information and payments will be safely protected within Stripe’s portal. We do not keep your credit or debit card information on our system.

How does a student receive their lunch?

During the normal lunch period, helpers will be available to hand out pre-ordered lunches. The student will receive their pre-ordered lunch by going to a lunch line and then telling the helper their name and grade. The helper will look up the student’s name on a daily lunch report, and after verifying the student, will give the student his/her meal.

What comes with a meal?

All pre-ordered meals includes one selection from one of two categories (Entrées and Sandwiches & Wraps), and a serving of your choice of fresh fruit or vegetable. A choice of cold beverage (1% milk, Honest brand organic juice drink, or bottled water) may be added for an additional 45 to 55 cents. A variety of select healthy snacks may also be added for an additional 40 to 45 cents. A selection of available Snacks & Sides will also be available for a la carte purchase.

How can I get The Lunch MOB to service our school?

What is The Lunch MOB?

The Lunch MOB was founded as a healthier and fresher alternative to school lunch services. Since 2015, we’ve helped parents spend more valuable time with their families by providing a convenient way to purchase their kids’ lunches online, which we’ve freshly made and delivered directly to over 25 partner schools, daily. As of September 2020, we’ve expanded our reach as a direct-to-door lunch service where we can deliver a week’s worth of pre-ordered, freshly prepared ready-to-heat meals directly to your doorstep. This expansion helps to serve the needs of families that are not currently connected with our partner schools.

How does it work?

First, select a meal plan that fits your needs {insert link to the “Buy More, Save More” banner}. Then choose from our wide selection of high quality, wholesome meals. Once we receive your order, we freshly prepare, precook, and package them in our commercial kitchen for our weekly scheduled delivery the following day. You’ll receive a week’s worth of ready-to-heat meals directly to your doorstep. Do you cater to kids with allergies?

All of our meals are nut-free, and we do offer a handful of items that are gluten-free, as well. We also provide a list of what allergens (like diary, wheat, and eggs) are contained for each item. While we do our best to cater for these food sensitivities, we cannot guarantee our meals do not contain small amounts of certain allergens since our commercial kitchen is used by other entities during our off-hours.

How far do you deliver?

We operate out of our commercial kitchen in Laguna Hills, California. At this time, we only deliver to certain parts of Orange County. We do plan to expand our reach in the future. What meal plans do you offer and how much does it cost?

We offer 3 weekly meal plans {insert link to the “Buy More, Save More” banner}: 5 meals for $8.49 each, 10 meals for $7.59 each, and 15 meals for $6.99 each (sales tax not included). There is no charge for shipping. Multiple meal plans may be purchased at one time. Meals are delivered weekly, straight to your doorstep.

How often do you change your menu options?

We typically set our menu at least one month out in advance, and offer about 20 to 25 options for each menu. Our menus are changed monthly to provide our customers even more variety. We tailor to kids’ tastes and we also strive to introduce new items because we believe kids’ willingness to try new and different foods empower lifelong virtues of open-mindedness. And so, we may change our options from time to time, so please make sure you check out our selections weekly. {insert link to the menu/ordering page}

How do meals stay fresh during delivery?

We transport pre-packaged meals in insulated tote bags with commercial-grade, non-toxic frozen gel packs. These gel packs will stay cold for hours to keep meals cold and safe upon arrival to your doorstep. Since we’re local in Orange County, we can ship and deliver all in one day.

What should I do with the insulated tote bags and gel packs upon receiving my delivery?

The insulated tote bags and non-toxic gel packs are reusable. Please help with our sustainability efforts by saving the tote bags and gel packs for our pick-up the following week(s) when we drop off your next delivery. We will thoroughly clean and sanitize the bags and packs prior to our reuse. Thank you!

When will my delivery arrive?

Since we’re local in Orange County, we can ship and deliver all in one day, GUARANTEED! Our delivery days are always Sundays (unless we notify you in advance) and you can expect your delivery within two 4 hour windows, 8am to 12pm or 1pm to 5pm.

How do I prepare my meals?

Your meals are packaged in microwaveable food containers, and delivered inside an insulated tote bag with non-toxic, cold gel packs. Once you receive your meals, please remove your meals from the bag and refrigerate. When you’re ready to heat, simply place the food container in the microwave and heat on HIGH for no more than 90 seconds. We do not recommend placing the container in a toaster oven, oven, or broiler. If you prefer heating in an oven, we recommend you place the food in an oven-safe dish and heat for 6 to 8 minutes at 350 deg F.

Can I freeze my meals?

For best quality, we recommend storing your meals in the refrigerator. We do not recommend freezing.

What are your ordering and refund policies?

Orders for the following week are due by 12pm Wednesdays (unless we notify you in advance). Requests to cancel an order for the following week are due by 8am Fridays (unless we notify you in advance) in order to receive 100% refund. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we can not modify any existing orders at this time.
